If you haven't been in the store recently, you might not know that we've been concentrating our April/May window and buying trips with an eye toward Horse Racing. What would spring in Maryland be without our horse breeding, training and racing heritage? With the Manor Races and Grand National Steeplechase just finished, the Hunt Cup 4/28, Black Eyed Susan Day and Preakness 5/18 and 5/19, then Fair Hill races 5/26, we certainly have plenty of horse racing to follow and watch! Our window theme for April/May is inspired by and in honor of Maryland's horse racing heritage!
We started at Country Life and Merryland Farms for an interview with owner Mike Pons who generously donated many family items for our window. As you stop in or stroll by, we hope you see the fun atmosphere of a race day, the colorful fun attire of the women and their fascinators and race hats. Our jockey wearing Country Life Farm silks and memorabilia from years back. Take a look at the breathtaking pictures from past races. Flowers cap off the theme as we can't wait for Spring to really arrive! What a Maryland tradition to be proud of.
We still have quite a few choices for Race Ready attire if you'e in need. Stop in any day of the week for some friendly conversation, a cup of coffee or tea and a bit of shopping.
